Plan on attending the 1st annual Veterans Appreciation Festival, on September 26th, 2009 from 10 am to 10 pm, sponsored by OPEN ARMS 4 BREVARD under the leadership of Director Millie Brown. This event will be hosted by the Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless of Brevard, INC., sponsors of WIN VETS, WIN Housing, Tropic Hammock, and Victory Village.
Proceeds from this event will assist the Coalition in the construction of additional housing for the disabled veterans, homeless veterans, returning active duty and their families, etc, under the direction of Ginger Ferguson. Brevard County has approximately 1000 registered homeless veterans, which is a problem this organization is looking to rectify. The activities during the day are FREE (which is not listed on the flier!!!) and include live bands (Debbie Barns, Matt Adkins Band, Sean Evan, Exit 69 Band, John Parott, Big Bucks Blues Band, Jim & the No Shows Band, among others) children's games and activities, food and merchant vendors, car/truck/bike show, beer garden, dunking booth, and much more!
Pirate Rock 95.9 and The Hit Kicker 102.7 radio stations will be on site and broadcasting live. Participants of all ages are encouraged. After 6:00 pm there will be a buffet style dinner and both live and silent auctions.
Advanced ticket donations for this dinner are $10.00 and ticket donations at the door are $15.00.
