9/18/09- Varsity Football Game of the Week
Bayside came within a single point of a huge upset as the Cocoa Tigers came prowling south tonight. Stunning Cocoa in the first half with a 14-0 lead, Bayside headed into the locker room feeling pretty confident. After all they had held the mighty Tigers scoreless for an entire half and were able to move the ball with relative ease while keeping the Tiger offense from finding their groove.
The Cocoa came out in the second half with a pair of touchdowns by QB Matt Younger and ended Bayside's hopes of an upset with a 39 yard field goal by Cody Bell in the final seconds of the game.
Bayside showed that they could keep up with the potent Tigers and they are only a few seconds away from going 3-0 to start the season. Cocoa comes away with a win and a reason to believe that they can go far into the post season again this year as long as they play all four quarters.
