When I’m working downtown, and see a young woman walk by, dressed, let’s say, unique, confident, and new, I can’t help the smile that comes across my face and the sense of excitement it stirs inside of me. Yes, things are finally changing; fashion is catching on in this town.
You see, all too often, we dress according to what is perceived as appropriate for this area. They look for something reliable and normal. It’s so common to see leather or rubber flip- flops. It’s so predictable for someone to choose what’s easy and convenient. But I have to ask you, do you ever get bored? What actually defines you and sets you apart from all the other same plain jeans, and tank tops.
I guess it’s a matter of knowing yourself well enough to be fearless and take the challenge of setting yourself apart from all the rest, as commander of your own closet; you are the chief of your wardrobe. The longing to represent something new and wonderful (since we already know we’re beautiful in a plain t-shirt or our favorite pair of old jeans) is undeniable. The key is to know that you are beautiful already, because that is the first step to take before tackling the endeavor of developing your own sense of style. Be brave and be smart. Wear your look with ease and grace so that others can admire. Set the trend, change the tracks, and float on with fashion with its never ending ups and downs of styles.
