The Viera Hawks were able to celebrate a Homecoming victory this evening as the first year Heritage Panthers took the trip up I95 to visit another football program that has seen its share of growing pains.
Still looking for their first victory in school history the freshman heavy team from Heritage took to the field with confidence and looked great in their first series as they marched down the field. The panthers also startled the crowd with a fake punt that kept the drive alive, but in the end it was not meant to be as the Hawks kept Heritage out of the end zone all game for a 27-0 victory.
Leading the Hawks was freshman quarterback Tarean Hassel who contributed three rushing touchdowns in the Hawks victory.
Next up for Viera is a trip to Palm Bay and Heritage will head back home to host Boca Raton Christian.
