Target Awards Grant to Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard (CACB) recently received a $1,000 grant from Target® to support the centers Clinical Intervention Program which provides free crisis and short-term counseling to victims of child abuse and their non-offending family members. In fiscal year 2008-2009, CACB counselors provided more than 1,000 counseling sessions to victims and family members.
“This grant from Target is greatly appreciated, and will be effectively used to assist children who are dealing with the difficulties associated with sexual and/or physical abuse,” said Chuck Biehl, Director of the CACB and Child Protection Team. The Target grant is part of ongoing efforts by the company to strengthen families and communities throughout the country. Since 1946, Target has dedicated five percent of its income to partnering with organizations to make positive changes in the community through education, the arts, social services and volunteerism. Today those contributions equal more than $3 million every week.
